Many Washington University students engage in community service activities as an integral part of their college experience and will fondly remember their involvement in Community Service Office programs such as Service First, Each One Teach One, or Leadership Through Service when they graduate. Students may also have experienced the benefits of community service through programs sponsored by Student Union groups, the Campus Y, Residential Life, Greek Life, and more.
The Gephardt Institute and Community Service Office work to promote civic engagement and community service across Washington University, instilling a lifelong ethic of service in our students. We are excited to announce the launch of the Gephardt Alumni Service Council for alumni with a continued desire to make a difference.
The Council coordinates a network across the United States that will:
• Support connections among community-minded alumni through regional service activities, an online community, and networking for alumni new to the area, etc.
• Provide mentorship and assistance to students who are in your local communities for service trips, non-profit internships, and more.
• Offer advice to the Gephardt Institute and the Community Service Office to support our continued growth and effectiveness.
• Fundraise as a team through modest contributions that can support meaningful programming that serves current students.
The Alumni Service Council is led by an Executive Committee co-chaired by Juliet Curci ‘LA04 (Philadelphia, PA) and Hillary Saxon ‘LA04 (Barrington, IL). Executive committee members include:
